The arrival of the police forces unleashed a series of confrontations, which ended with the arrest of numerous young people and teachers, amid shouts and tensions.

According to the Palestine Today platform, the president of the university’s Philosophy department, Noelle McAfee, was one of those arrested by the Georgia State Patrol.

The incident at Emory University joins other similar ones that have occurred throughout this week on various university campuses in the North American country, which has left more than 400 students and professors arrested at universities such as California, Massachusetts, Texas and NY.

On this day, Palestine Today highlighted that students from George Washington University continued their sit-in in support of Palestine and condemning Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Likewise, according to the same platform, students from the University of Pennsylvania circumvented the ban on entering the Green Zone and started a demonstration in solidarity with Palestine.

The demonstrations take place after more than 200 days of Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, and which have so far left 34,000 dead, including more than 14,000 children.
