In a meeting in this capital, on the last day of the visit of the senior American official, the Chinese diplomatic chief called on his counterpart to stop crossing the red lines with respect to the sovereignty, security and interests of Beijing.

However, at another time he acknowledged that after the meeting between the two presidents of each nation in San Francisco last November, bilateral relations stabilized and both sides increased dialogue, cooperation and positive aspects in various fields.

On the other hand, negative factors in the ties continue to accumulate and “face various interruptions and sabotage,” he commented.

“China has always adhered to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation,” added the Chinese foreign minister while insisting on Beijing’s commitment to promoting the stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral ties.

As part of his agenda in the Asian giant, Blinken arrived in Shanghai on the 24th, attended a basketball game there, visited the Shanghai Yu Garden and tried the typical Nanxiang xiaolongbao food.

During his stay, he spoke with Chen Jining, secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of that city, and both parties advocated for managing their differences responsibly.

He also went to New York University in Shanghai to meet with professors and students, and at another time he met with business leaders at the American Chamber of Commerce.

On several occasions, Beijing drew attention to the latest series of measures by the United States to repress China’s commercial and technological development, as well as the increasing amount of sanctions on entities of the Asian giant.

The Secretary of State arrived in this country while a bill that includes aid to Taiwan is advancing in Congress, causing new friction between the two countries.

Added to the above are Beijing’s repeated warnings regarding the deployment of missiles by the United States in the Asia-Pacific region, which China considers a serious threat to national security.
