Ali-Akbar Safaei, head of Iran’s Port and Maritime Organization (PMO)maintained that three ships ordered by Venezuela have been delivered to the country of South America.
In line with what was communicated by the head of the PMO, Iran’s shipbuilding industry has attracted the interest of “many countries” in the international arena.
Venezuela ordered three 90,000-ton ships from Iran and they were built by “expert and competent” Iranian engineers and delivered to the South American country, according to Ali-Akbar Safaei.
Iran and Venezuela have maintained ties in the area of maritime transport “for years”, according to what was highlighted by the head of the PMO.
Additionally, Iran has held expert-level talks with Cuba in the field of shipbuilding, according to Ali-Akbar Safaei.
The Iranian authority also expressed the hope that Iranian capacity will be used “optimally” for the construction of ships needed by Latin American states.
