Washington, May 3 (RHC) Many young voters in the United States are today considering supporting independent or third-party candidates in the November elections due to anger with both Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
That segment of voters is showing signs, above all, of their rejection of President Biden’s handling of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.
Young people, who in general had already expressed their dissatisfaction with Democrat Biden and Republican Trump, are increasingly critical of what is happening in Gaza.
The situation led to massive protests two weeks ago at American universities at a politically complex moment for Biden, who is seeking re-election.
In the opinion of a group of Wisconsin college students, former President Trump would do no better (or even worse) on the issue than Biden.
Overall, students saw the protests as a necessary tool to shed light on the debate over the war between Israel and Hamas, while also putting pressure on their schools and the White House.
Although November 5 is still a few months away, polls show an advantage for Trump over Biden in the face of an eventual rematch.
Meanwhile, on the national stage, more and more people are eligible to vote and are opposed to the Republican and Democratic Parties in a climate of distrust towards the political forces that traditionally alternate in the Oval Office.
A poll early last month found that more than half of Democrats (55 percent) think neither traditional parties nor politicians care about people.
