Although the Second World War ended decades ago and then the Cold War broke out, hundreds of doubts still persist about the way in which all the events occurred around this difficult historical moment for the Germans, the Jews, Europe and great part of the world Several investigations have been developed to respond to this violent historical moment. In turn, a series of theories have been created to understand the way people thought in those years.

It was on September 1, 1939 when what would be a genocide and one of the cruelest moments for the world’s Jewish population, but also for gypsies and thousands of other people, officially began. That day Germany invaded Poland and with that the torture and violent events began.

The UN, which began its operations due to the Second World War, detailed in a commemoration of its work in the words of the Secretary General that “the Second World War has been one of the most epic struggles in history for freedom and liberation. Its cost surpassed all calculation and beyond all comprehension: 40 million civilians and 20 million soldiers died, almost half of them in the Soviet Union alone.”

On the other hand, the UN has highlighted that despite the violence of the Second World War, it was effectively achieved “overcoming its consequences and promoting reconciliation, international and regional cooperation and democratic values, human rights and fundamental freedoms, in particular through the United Nations, and the establishment of regional and subregional organizations and other appropriate frameworks.”

Now, Hitler and his henchmen used various locations strategically to plan the different ways in which they would advance the war. One of these sites was the Wolf’s Lair or Wolfsschanze. This was located near the city of Kętrzyn, northeast of Poland. By 1940, Hitler saw fit to build a secret military headquarters to plan the invasion of the Soviet Union.

It was in this same place where more than seven decades later some important archaeologists found something quite disturbing. Although research is constantly being carried out in this place, last February they found something that they called disturbing.

What was the disturbing thing they found beneath Hitler’s wolf’s den?

The investigations in Poland are quite relevant, as they have allowed us to make sense of history. In this way, the Government allows studies in the places occupied by Hitler and his allies.

Last February, on a winter weekend, some archaeologists were carrying out an exhaustive search on the ground, when they suddenly came across what they believed was pipes from the site’s infrastructure. However, when excavating they discovered a skull.

At that moment, they called the authorities and they found five skeletons, four of which had no hands or feet. The investigation into the bodies has already ended and the causes of death have not been concluded. However, it seems that they date from the First World War or after it. That is, they were buried between 1918 and 1939. The state of the remains did not allow us to find much information, so the investigation was closed.

Despite this, other researchers commented that the remains could be from World War II, but more studies would be needed to conclude this.

Adrian Kostrzewa, member of the Latebra Foundation of Poland and engineer, indicated that these excavation works have been carried out for five years with permission from the Government. Furthermore, he noted that the remains were found under the house of Hermann Göring, Hitler’s second in command in World War II.
