New batch of BMP-3 IFVs equipped with Nakidka optical camouflage for the Russian Ground Forces

Throughout the current year, the Russian military industrial complex is striving to replace the armored vehicles lost by the Ground Forces in Ukraine. Thus, the Kurganmashzavod plant, belonging to the High Precision Systems consortium, delivered a new batch of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles (IFV). This new batch, of which no quantities were specified, joins others registered in recent months.

Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of Rostec’s conventional weapons, ammunition and special chemicals complex, said on the occasion of the new BMP-3 delivered that: “Rostec produces a wide range of modern armored vehicles. These include main battle tanks, self-propelled artillery systems, and infantry fighting vehicles. Today, Kurganmashzavod has delivered to the Ministry of Defense another batch of BMP-3 with standard additional protection kits. This type of equipment is especially in demand in the Special Military Operation (SVO) area. In addition to supplying new vehicles, Kurganmashzavod is significantly advancing the schedule for capital repairs of the BMP-3 and BMD-4M airborne vehicles. Fulfilling the state defense request is our priority task”.

Although it was not detailed in the June 17 statement what type of version of the BMP-3 it is, Rostec indicated that these new armored vehicles are equipped with additional armor kits.
