The British royal family has suffered a new setback. The princess anne, sister of King Charles III, is in hospital after an accident on the Gatcombe Park estate, where her country house is located.

Buckingham Palace has issued a brief statement announcing this news: “The princess royal suffered minor injuries and a concussion following an incident at the Gatcombe Park estate last night,” he explains.

Since this Sunday night, the monarch’s sister, 73, has been in Bristol’s Southmead Hospital “as a precautionary measure under observation and expected to make a full and rapid recovery”, adds the institution.

After this incident, Charles III has remained “closely informed” and both he and the rest of the royal family send “their most affectionate love and good wishes to the princess for a speedy recovery,” the statement concludes.

As revealed by EFE, the accident of the royal princess occurred when she was walking on the grounds of her mansion in the aforementioned countryside and, although at the moment the origin of her injuries has not been confirmed, the medical team treating her believes that they could be caused by the blow of a horse.

In recent months, Princess Anne’s role in the British Crown had taken special relevance. Given the absence of the king and Princess Kate due to the cancer they both suffer from, as well as the decrease in Prince William’s activity to be with his wife, the daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth increased the commitments in her diary to make up for those absences.

The princess royal, a title usually given to the eldest daughter of the British monarch – in this case, Queen Elizabeth – is one of the members of the British royal family best valued by the population, surpassing King Charles and Princess Kate.

The sister of Charles III has numerous honors and decorations: she is Commander in Chief of Women in the Royal Navy, Lady of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Lady of the Most Ancient and Noble Order of the Thistle, Lady of Grand Cross and Grand Master of the Royal Victorian Order and Lady of Grand Cross of the Most Venerable Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. In addition, she officially collaborates with more than 200 charities and is the member of the royal family with the most royal commitments.
