A Missouri woman has been arrested on charges of poisoning her husband with weed killer, claiming he didn’t appreciate the birthday party she threw for him. Michelle Y. The incident came to light when Peters’ husband went to the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office on June 24, claiming he suspected his wife was poisoning him.

On June 23, a new review of the recordings showed the wife with a bottle of Mountain Dew near an insecticide on a shelf, prompting her husband to notify authorities again.

During police questioning, the defendant initially claimed that she mixed Mountain Dew with Roundup to use as a herbicidea trick she said she had seen on Pinterest.

However, when confronted with the video evidence, she admitted to slipping insecticide into the soda, saying she acted this way because she was angry that her husband had not appreciated the birthday party she threw for him. “Michelle said she should have divorced him,” the court documents state.

The Laclede County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the husband concluded that Peters might be seeking to collect on his $500,000 life insurance policy or that she was involved in an affair. Additionally, he mentioned that the woman had “dramatically reduced” the amount of money she transferred from her business account to her personal account.
