Guilherme Gandra Moura, An 8-year-old boy who woke up after being in a coma for 16 days, was reunited with his mother and the video has moved Internet users around the world.
Family originally from Brazil published the emotional moment in which the mother runs to see her son who has just woken up.
The father Estevao Moura record his mother Tayane Granda Orrinco to get to the hospital, because the first thing Guilherme did when he woke up was to ask for her.
Seeing her, the child begins to scream excitedly. “Mother!” and, finally, they both end up giving each other a touching hug.
The child has been suffering from epidermolysis bullosa since birth, a genetic and hereditary disease that causes collagen deficiency and, consequently, multiple wounds and blisters on the skin.
The doctors of the Barra da Tijuca Hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, where the minor is hospitalized, they called the case a miracle, because they considered it very difficult for him to wake up from a coma.
He was intubated due to a complication he had in recent days due to severe pneumonia.
“It’s been 16 days without leaving you, and on the only day mom goes home to sleep, you decide to wake up from your restful sleep. She receives the video call from daddy with you calling me, demanding that I run away, oh my son, how mom flew here to come soon and hug you. You are our most beautiful miracle, thank you for being so ours, we love you to infinity and beyond.” wrote his mother Tayane Granda Orrinco in the video.
