Ezequiel Martínez, director of the event, confirmed the participation of the president Javier Mileiwho will present his most recent literary work, titled “Capitalism, socialism and the neoclassical trap”, on Sunday, May 12 at the facilities of The Rural. The decision of the president’s presence in this context is framed within a climate of tension with sectors of the cultural field, a result of the recent defunding that said sector experienced.

In statements offered during an interview with Radio Rivadavia, Martínez expressed that Javier Milei will be present on May 12 at the Book Fair. The publisher requested that the event be held in the central arena, usually used for cattle and horse exhibitions, this being a space unusually used within the framework of the fair.

However, Martínez clarified that, although the President will present his new publication at the Book Fair, the organization of the event will not be responsible for carrying out this activity. Martínez stated that Milei’s event will take place at the Book Fair, ““but the organization of the presentation of Javier Milei’s book will not be under our responsibility.”

Javier Milei will be present at the 48th edition of the Fair.

In relation to this point, Martínez provided an additional explanation: “Milei participated in the last two editions of the Fair. Her presentations have generated great interest, with full rooms and long lines of young people eager to attend. These events took place with respect and without incidents. However, on this occasion a greater impact is expected due to the presence of Mr. Milei in his role as president, not only as the author of the book.”
