The International Book Fair will have a new edition in Rosario from September 5 to 15. In addition, the city will host the Crack Bang Boom International Comic Conventionin August, and Fontanarrosa Festival, in November, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of Roberto Fontanarrosa.
With these announcements, Rosario continues to position itself as a nerve center for diverse cultural encounters and expressions, both for Rosario residents and visitors and tourists.
Within the framework of the 48th edition of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair, the Municipality of Rosario signed, together with the government of the province of Santa Fe and the El Libro Foundation, a commitment document for the realization of a new edition of the fair in the month of September.
The mayor of Rosario, Pablo Javkin, expressed: “We are confirming not only a new edition of the Book Fair in Rosario, but also the holding of a festival tribute to Fontanarrosa. In 2024, it will be 20 years since the Language Congress and 80 years since the birth of the Negro and we are going to do it as he deserves, with a special Festival in his honor.”

The Rosario International Book Fair will take place from September 5 to 15 and, like every year, the entry will be free. The event will feature the participation of publishers, bookstores, authors and artists from all over the country. There will be a space for childhood, school visits and featured talks. The signing of this commitment document ratifies the commitment of the parties involved to the promotion of reading and culture in the city of Rosario.
The Secretary of Culture and Education of the Municipality of Rosario expressed the value of cultural management and carrying out this type of activities for the city: “Rosario is a city that invests and is strongly committed to culture. Rosario at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair
The Secretariat of Culture and Education of the Municipality of Rosario also participates in the Espacio Ñ of the Buenos Aires Fair with different artistic proposals. Today, Friday, May 3, the Sonario y Toca project is presented. Barfeye, Cata Torres, Steaks with salad, Key Biscayne and Alyx.
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 4, starting at 6 p.m., Mavi Leone and Manu Piró will be present with their music.
Crack Bang Boom: the comic universe
From August 15 to 18, the Center for Contemporary Expressions, Shed 11 and the Shed of Youth will host the 12th edition of Crack Bang Boom, the great international comics convention that brings together artists, fans and professionals of the sector . This year, the event will be attended by top-level guests. There will be workshops, talks, exhibitions, contests and endless activities for comics lovers.
Fontanarrosa 80: a tribute to Black
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the birth of Roberto Fontanarrosa (November 26), an emblematic figure of local culture, the Municipality of Rosario together with the National University of Rosario. will organize a festival in his honor. “Fontanarrosa 80” will have programming that will include music, graphics, gastronomy, streaming, meetings and coffee conversations, to evoke the cunning, intelligence, values, humor and passions of the Black.
With these three major events, Rosario consolidates itself as a cultural center of reference in the region. The Book Fair, Crack Bang Boom and Fontanarrosa 80 are an invitation to discover the pleasure of reading, enjoy art in its various expressions and pay tribute to one of the most important artists in Argentina.
