Viviana Urraofficial photographer of the Foreign Ministry, launched the book on Monday “Our Voices: Women of Power”which seeks to recognize and make visible the important work of women in the field of Chilean diplomacy.

The event took place at the headquarters of the University of Chile, where its vice-rector Pilar Barba highlighted that “this launch not only celebrates the International Day of Women in Diplomacybut also highlights our commitment to gender equality and inclusion. ‘Our Voices: Women of Power’ is a work that inspires and reflects the strength and dedication of women in diplomacyaligning perfectly with the values ​​of our university.”

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gloria Fuenteshighlighted in the presentation that “the Foreign Ministry has taken concrete steps in this area with the implementation of the Feminist Foreign Policywhich establishes the principle of equality and inclusion as an imperative for the strengthening of democracy.”

In that context, he highlighted the importance of Urra’s work as a visual record of these significant changes, stating that “This book is a visual testimony of the progress towards gender parity in our Foreign Ministry. The publication not only documents history, but also celebrates the advancement and leadership of women in Chilean diplomacy. “It is an honor to be part of this moment and see our efforts for a feminist foreign policy come to fruition.”
