The calls for the 2025 Culture Funds of Chile related to the Book and Reading Fund are open

This Tuesday, June 25, the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage of Chile began the application process for the Culture Funds 2025which in their six funds and 44 lines contemplate a total budget of more than 36 billion pesos.

Among the central emphases for this version are decentralization based on the establishment of criteria and quotas that favor projects from regions other than the Metropolitan; the encouragement of cultural work by increasing the resources of the lines that generate greater employability; and the reduction of gender gaps through criteria that prioritize women in work teams.

One of the main novelties of the Culture 2025 Funds is that for the first time they contemplate in the bases the crossing of information with the National Registry of Food Pension Debtors. If the natural persons responsible for selected projects are in said registry at the time of signing the agreement, they must prove with relevant documentation the payment of the debt to complete the process, otherwise the project will not be awarded. If, after signing the agreement, the person responsible for the selected project is entered in the registry, the institution will have the power to retain the equivalent of 50% of the financing or a lower amount if this is sufficient to resolve the debt, in order to to subsequently transfer it to the person responsible for the beneficiary.

He Book and Reading Fund 2025 It will have a total of six lines. Yesterday, Tuesday, June 25, the call for Promotion of Creation opened (which closes on July 25). She was joined today, Wednesday the 26th, by those from Industry Promotion; Promotion of Reading, Writing and Oral Communication; Dissemination in the Media; Investigation; and next Tuesday, July 30, the Chile Crea Scholarships will join. One of the main novelties is the reincorporation of the Collective Training modality for the Local Development of the Book Industry in the line of Industry Promotion, which will finance free training and training projects for agents in the sector.

In addition, criteria have been modified in lines and modalities to prioritize projects in regions with low applications, such as Atacama, Antofagasta, Ñuble and Aysén. Likewise, some lines and modalities include selection criteria for projects linked to the work and figure of Gabriela Mistral, in the context of the 80 years since the Nobel Prize was awarded, which will be commemorated in 2025.
