From May 22 to 24, Bogotá will dress up to celebrate the seventh edition of the Bogotá Fashion Week (BFW)an event organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB) that seeks to position the city as an international fashion business center.

During three days, Ágora Bogotá – Convention Center It will be the epicenter of activities designed to promote and activate sales of participating brands. In addition, multiple complementary spaces will be offered to bring the public closer to fashion, such as “Conversations“, a series of talks that will address four main topics: sustainability, craftsmanship and design, business, and experience versus novelty.

María Paz Gaviria, manager of the CCB’s Cultural Programs, highlighted the importance of the event: “With 110 designers preparing them for the platform. This is a celebration around fashion, a space for conversations, for marketing. They will have the possibility of seeing independent fashion shows open to the public, of buying, of acquiring, of enjoying Colombian fashion. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the best of independent design in our capital.”

In addition, the event seeks to include the popular economy in this high fashion showcase. Ovidio Claros, president of the CCB, highlighted this initiative: “Commerce integrated into Bogotá Fashion Week means that we have a bridge, in this seventh edition, which is that of San Victorino. Inclusion of the popular economy in this exhibition is fundamental” .

He added that, “It is crucial that they go, that they see, that they look at what they are producing, how the popular economy inserted in these large platforms can also stand out.”

The BFW will include all economic sectors, offering a platform where independent design and the popular economy can shine together.

The Sustainability will be a central focus, covering environmental, cultural, social and economic aspects. These talks will seek to promote sustainable and responsible practices within the fashion sector. Crafts and design will also be explored, focusing on the country’s cultural heritage, identity in fashion, collective co-creation and participation in the global market.

This theme will highlight the importance of integrating artisanal traditions into contemporary design. Additionally, business topics will be discussed, such as internationalization, commercialization and marketing, offering attendees tools and strategies to expand your brands in global markets.

Finally, in the strip titled “Experience vs Novelty“, young people will ask specialists with recognized experience in the fashion ecosystem, facilitating an exchange of ideas and perspectives between different generations.
