Cartagena de Indias hosted a delegation of the inaugural Emirates Airlines flight (Dubai – Miami – Bogotá) that Colombia received. The delegation was made up of airline executives, five media outlets from the Middle East: The National Newspaper, Khaleej Times, Al Ittihad Newspaper, Al Khaleej Newspaper, Dubai TV, and two leading travel and tourism digital influencers: Haifa Bseiso and Duncan Couto.

The arrival of Emirates Airlines is a historic milestone in the country’s air connectivity, and is an opportunity for tourist destinations like Cartagena to promote their entire offer with the Arab world. The arrival of Emirates Airlines to the country is the result of several years of work, which involved a coordinated strategy between various entities such as ProColombia, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, Civil Aeronautics, strategic allies of the industry and destination promotion organizations.
