Protects the right to health of teachers in Norte de Santander
The Unitary Central of Workers (CUT) manages to win a protection in favor of health in 14 cases in which teachers were demanding that Fiduprevisora provide the service in a timely manner.
The Third Oral Administrative Court of Cúcuta ruled in favor of the CUT union, which since May 8 has been demanding answers for 14 requests from teachers who were exposing health problems that were not attended to in a timely manner.
Among the problems exposed is a lack of guarantees in comprehensive care, barriers through authorizations, problems in the continuity of treatments for high-cost diseases and chronic pathologies.
In addition to asking to resolve these problems, operators are asked to keep the office stocked when delivering medicines. And to this is added the attention of the teachers’ family units.
The attention of Mauricio Marín and Edwin Alfredo González Rangel, in their capacity as President and Manager of Health Services of Fiduprevisora, respectively, was requested to proceed within the term of forty-eight (48) hours following the notification of providence, to decide the request presented on May 8, 2024, by José Martín Cruz and Alfonso Serrano Jiménez, among others, in their capacity as members of the Executive Committee of the Norte de Santander Subdirectorate of the Unitary Central of Workers of Colombia “CUT”, through a background response that is clear, precise and consistent with what is required.
Taking this into consideration, the judge agreed with the members of the CUT who accompany the inspection of services to teachers in this region.
