The Banco Estado RUT Account is an account seen with more than 14.7 million users in Chile. It is one of the most popular banking products because it has no opening or maintenance costs. To obtain this account, you only need to have a valid Chilean RUT and a current identity card.

Obtaining the RUT Account

One of the peculiarities of the RUT Account is that women can also obtain it from the age of 12 and men from the age of 14, although minors must have the authorization of their legal representative to open it. Although opening the account is free, there are certain charges established for some transactions, such as transfers to clients of other banks or money transfers at certain ATMs.

Free transfers for seniors

The RUT Account has a charge of $300 for each transfer to clients of other banks. However, customers who are 65 years old or older can make up to three free transfers per month to accounts at other banks. This condition will apply only to transfers made through the Banco Estado website or application. From the fourth transfer onwards, you will be charged the established amount.

Transactions with collections

The RUT Account transactions that have charges are the following: transfers at ATMs of other banks, transfers to other banks, balance inquiries at ATMs of other banks, international purchases made on the Internet from Chile and purchases and cash withdrawals from abroad. There will also be a charge for the replacement of the CuentaRUT card in case of loss, theft or theft, and for the issuance of a duplicate card for transactions in the CuentaRUT requested at branches of Banco Estado or BancoEstado Express.

The State Bank has the power to readjust rates once a year, during the month of February, according to the variation in the CPI accumulated during the previous year.
