MIAMI, Florida – Three individuals face serious charges after being caught in an elaborate fraud against insurance companies in West Miami. Samantha Pérez, Lazara González and Jorge Negrín are accused of committing organized fraud against National General and Progressive.
The alleged accident occurred on September 13, 2023 at the intersection of 69th Avenue and Southwest 9th Street. The defendants called the police reporting a collision between two vehicles in which they were. However, images from surveillance cameras revealed that the cars never contacted each other, thus denying the official version.
Negrín reportedly sought medical treatment 27 times at a medical center for alleged injuries sustained in the fraudulent accident. Experts point out that these types of fraudulent claims have a direct impact on the economy.
All three suspects face serious charges including grand theft, insurance fraud, perjury and organized fraud.
