The swearing-in of the flag by King Felipe VI in Zaragoza, live

King Felipe VI returns this Saturday, May 4, to the General Military Academy (AGM) of Zaragoza to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his promotion in the Army. Queen Letizia will be present at the event from the Patio de Parade box and Princess Leonor will remain with her colleagues from the Academy in training.

Don Felipe, dressed in the uniform of a captain general of the Army, and Doña Letizia arrived at the academy at 11:30 a.m., where they were received by its director, General Manuel Pérez López. As this is an internal and family event, neither the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, nor any regional or local authority attended.

It is tradition that the flag is sworn at 25 and 40 years after the first time. In 2010 it was already done, in that case it was the first of the promotion, and now it is sworn in again. At the event there will also be an emotional memory of the classmates who have died over the years.

After his reception with the national anthem, honors and the firing of salutes, Felipe VI reviewed the formation accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Army (Jeme), General Amador Enseñat, and the head of the Military Quarter, Emilio Gracia Cirugeda. . Together with Felipe VI, just over 200 members of the 44th promotion, who are currently commanders of the three Armies and the Civil Guard, renew their oath before the national flag.
