The development plan of the Carlos Pinedo Cuello administration contains five fundamental axes that establish the district’s priorities for the next four years. The approval of this plan coincides with the celebration of the 500 years of the city.

After discussions in the Plan Commission and in the plenary session of the council, the corporation approved the ‘Santa Marta 500+’ Development Plan, from the administration of Carlos Pinedo Cuello.

For the president of the District Council, José Manuel Mozo, the approval of this document is the result of a broad debate in which the different groups that make up the corporation participated. Likewise, he pointed out that some initiatives by the councilors on specific topics such as health, education, mobility, environment and public management were incorporated into the plan.

The plan has a cost of 7.6 billion pesos, of which 50% will be contributed by the district, and the remainder will be managed before the Nation and with multinational banks. ‘Santa Marta 500+’ comprehensively includes the government proposals of the president of the district of Santa Marta.

The plan also contains the programs and projects that will provide the district with water, both for its inhabitants and for productive activities. The approved plan constitutes a powerful tool for the district executive to face and overcome challenges in the sectors of drinking water, mobility, basic sanitation, environment, quality of education, security and economic development. Essential actions to bring Santa Marta up to date, especially when it is about to celebrate its 500 years.
