In 2025, 10,200 people will be able to serve as popular juries in gender equality – Judiciary of Entre Ríos

The public draw for 10,200 gender equality people who make up the current electoral roll and will be potential popular juries, in accordance with the requirements established by the Law 10,746, which regulates the operation of this criminal trial system. The draw discriminated by jurisdiction and by sex, with the aim of drawing up the final list of people who will be able to join the Jury Court in the criminal trials that will take place in Entre Ríos in 2025. The event was broadcast by the Information and Communication from the Superior Court of Justice of Entre Ríos (STJER), via streaming and through its YouTube channel.

The juries are made up of twelve regular people and four alternates on gender equality, while the trials take place in the place where the events occurred.

Drawn numbers

In accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Chamber of the STJER, 10,200 male and female voters registered in the updated general registry were elected, discriminated in the following way: 1,759 for Paraná; 1,315 for the city of Concordia and the same for Concepción del Uruguay and Gualeguaychú; 877 for Gualeguay; and, in each case, 263 for San José de Feliciano, Chajarí, Federación, Federal, La Paz, Vllaguay, Diamante, Nogoyá, Rosario del Tala, Colón, Victoria, Islas del Ibicuy and Villa Paranacito and 200 for San Salvador.

The selection also included the complementary draw of 150 male and female voters for Gualeguay, Diamante and San José de Feliciano, and another 300 for Gualeguaychú.

Drawn numbers

The controller of the draw was the head of the Government Notary’s Office, Sandra Taborda. The activity was led by the Jury Trial Coordinator of the Judiciary, Fermín Bilbao; while the coordinating prosecutor of Paraná, Álvaro Piérola, participated as observers for the Public Prosecutor’s Office; the official defender Gaspar Reca Ríos, for the Public Ministry of Defense; and Carla Cusimano, from the Association of Victims of Aberrant Crimes of Entre Ríos (Vidaer), representing non-governmental organizations linked to the matter, as provided for in article 18 of Law 10. 746. Representatives of the Electoral Tribunal were also present. from Entre Ríos; the president of IAFAS, Diego Martínez Domé; the director of the organization, Marcelo Mounfort and the notary Julio César Saurin.
