As picked up by Vogue, Jenner, the dress has been “sleeping for the last 25 years. She is literally a sleeping beauty.” And precisely this year the theme of the Met Gala is “Sleeping Beauties: Fashion Awakening”, exhibition that seeks to highlight those garments so delicate that they are only worthy of museums.

The dress was presented on the catwalk, but on a mannequin, not on a model, and kept in the Givenchy archives, it is a true work of art with distinctive cutouts at the waist and sculptural details at the neck and shoulders.

The choice of the vintage dress was also inspired by this year’s Met Gala theme, “The Garden of Time,” which Jenner interpreted as an opportunity to immerse herself in her love of vintage and wear clothes with meaningful stories.
