Alec Baldwin faces a new demand by the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who died after being shot by the American actor on the set of the film ‘Rust’ in 2021.

“Yesterday we presented a civil lawsuit in the First Judicial District of New Mexico (USA) for Santa Fe County related to the death on October 21, 2021 of Halyna Hutchins, director of photography for ‘Rust’,” the attorney for the Hutchins family, Gloria Allred.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the family and Mamie Mitchellthe film’s script supervisor and witness to what happened.

“Our clients They seek to hold lead actor and producer Alec Baldwin accountablealong with other producers and individuals, for the tragic and untimely death of Halyna,” the lawyer said.

The filing of this new complaint coincided with the dismissal of the cases filed by the family against the actor in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, ruling that there was no personal jurisdiction in the state of California.

“We look forward to litigating this case in New Mexico against all of the defendants we allege in the lawsuit are responsible for causing Halyna’s deathof causing Ms. Mitchell’s injuries, and of causing the loss of consortium damages to Halyna’s family, whose relationship with Halyna was so tragically severed,” the attorney’s brief stated.

The family seeks punitive damages, compensatory damages, damages for emotional distress, civil penalties and the reimbursement of attorneys’ fees.
