I am the guy who will tell you all the latest news in film and television in 3DJuegos. I am passionate about science fiction, fantasy, superheroes and movie curiosities, those little behind-the-scenes stories of the directors and actors we have been following since we were little. My favorite saga? Star Trek. My favorite character? Superman, although lately a little more John Wick. One last thing, I promise not to bore you too much in my topics. LinkedIn

Regardless of his character’s ending, we can all say that we will always remember Emilia Clarke for her impeccable role as Daenerys Targaryen, and even though she signed a bit at the last minute for Game of Thrones, HBO previously tried another actress for her role, and she could have left the series as early as its first season. Or that was, at least, the fear of the British artist.

Speaking to Big Issue a few days ago, the film and television star spoke in detail about the brain aneurysm she suffered in 2011, shortly after finishing filming the first episodes of the hit fantasy drama. As explained in the interview, Clarke thought that fears about his health made him to think that HBO would do without it for the second season:

When you have a brain injury, it changes the way you perceive yourself to such a dramatic level that any insecurity you have in the workplace quadruples overnight. The first fear I had was: ‘Oh my god, are they going to fire me? Are they going to fire me because they think I can’t do the job anymore? (…) If I’m going to die, let it be live.”

Emilia Clarke suffered a second aneurysm in 2013

Not only did HBO not fire her, but it recorded with her until the last chapter of the fiction, saving a place for the mother of dragons even after Emilia Clarke suffered a second brain aneurysm in 2013 that left her with consequences, but not as many as could be foreseen from a situation like this: “I am in the very, very, very small minority of people who can survive this,” the actress declared in another interview with Variety a couple of years ago.

The Game of Thrones universe returns this Sunday, Monday in Spain, with the story of Daenerys’s Targaryen ancestors in the second season of The House of the Dragon, while George RR Martin talks about another spin-off.
