Daniel Radcliffe explains why he has never seen ‘The Sopranos’ or ‘Breaking Bad’: “I can’t handle them”

While viewers wait for the hypothetical signing of Daniel Radcliffe in the new HBO series about Harry Potterthe actor has surprised with his new statements about fictions of the caliber of The Sopranos either Breaking Badwhich he has confessed that he has never seen and it doesn’t look like he will.

In a new interview for Comic Book Resources, The British actor affirms that he is not exactly a lover of series, or at least long ones. “Honestly, I only watch cartoons and reality shows. I have never seen Breaking Bad, The Sopranos either The Wire. All those kinds of heavy, hour-long productions. I can’t with them“said the actor, to the confusion of many.

Radcliffe recognized that his works are more short-lived animated fiction from the likes of The Simpson, Robot Chicken, BoJack Horseman either Rick and Morty. “I think it’s probably partly because I grew up with The Simpson. The other day I was watching the show Jeopardy! and one of the contestants attributed a lot of his trivia knowledge to The Simpson. That happens to me too,” the interpreter noted in a comical way.

Millennials and their love for animation

After Spanish viewers grew up with the yellow family of Springfield, which accompanied the little ones of the house during mealtime for decades, Radcliffe’s words are logical for millennials who use ‘Simpsonian’ slang.

“There are so many strange facts and things, from my general knowledge of the world to my sense of humor, that were shaped in some way by The Simpson. It makes sense that our generation of people who have grown up with this series would want to continue watching more cartoons with adult themes“adds the interpreter.

Radcliffe also praises how these series deal with very controversial and depressive topics in the most parodic way possible. The actor recently participated in the dubbing of the series Mulligan, of Netflixwhich last May premiered the new episodes of its second season.

Furthermore, Radcliffe was also triumphing these weeks with the Broadway musical Merrily We Roll Along, where he appears alongside Jonathan Groff (glee) and Lindsay Mendez (All Rise), and which will soon have a film adaptation starring Paul Mescal, Ben Platt and Beanie Feldstein.
