Military of USAColombia and Ecuador will arrive in Peru next May to participate together with the Armed Forces of the Andean country in the ‘Resolute Sentinel 2024 Military Exercise’, a legislative resolution reported this Thursday, April 25.

The norm, published by Congress in the official newspaper El Peruano, authorized the entry of foreign military personnel with weapons of war to the national territory.
According to the resolution, foreign military personnel will carry out training with the Peruvian Armed Forces from May 1 to June 23.
He specified that, by having different training activities associated with the military exercisethe entry of foreign military personnel “will be on different dates, but in no case will it exceed the deadline of June 23, 2024 for them to withdraw from the territory of the Republic.”
In that sense, the Executive Branch was authorized to, through a resolution endorsed by the Minister of Defensecan modify, “when there are unforeseen causes, the start dates of execution of the operational activities”, as long as the already established permanence periods are not exceeded.
He added that, if these modifications occur, the Minister of Defense will report to the National Defense Commission, Internal Order, Alternative Development and Fight against Drugs congressional.
The resolution was sent to the president of Peru, Dina Boluartewith the signatures of the president and the first vice president of Congress, Alejandro Soto and Arturo Alegría, respectively.
