A multidisciplinary team made up of doctors, nurses, TENS and maintenance technicians from the Quellón Hospital began a three-month internship in the Underwater Medicine Service of the Ancud Hospital.

The training, led by the head of the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit of the Ancud Hospital, the neurologist, Master in Underwater Medicine and reference in the area, Dr. Jorge Calderón, will include theoretical and practical instruction.

In this regard, the director of the Chiloé Health Service, Marcela Cárcamo, highlighted that with this training the projected for the start of operations of this service at the New Quellón Hospital is being met: “On June 3, staff training began at the Ancud Hospital to prepare for the management of the hyperbaric chamber. The commissioning of this equipment includes the respective training for both the maintenance area and the professionals who will operate it.
