‘Toc Toc Early Childhood’ will bring well-being and comprehensive development to the children of Barranquilla

During this four-year period, all the neighborhoods of the city will be visited, holding 2 monthly meetings in the 5 locations. It is projected to impact 35,000 girls and boys in the same period.

The Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla, led by Mayor Alejandro Char, launches the ‘Toc Toc Early Childhood’ strategy, which seeks to impact Barranquilla children, their families and the community in general in the 5 locations of the city through the implementation of leisure, recreational, art and cultural activities, in an articulated manner between the public and private sectors.

“We are going to reach all the neighborhoods, all the blocks of Barranquilla, bringing joy, bringing sports, culture, traditional games; We are going to involve the children and parents. All the neighborhoods of the city will be visited, holding 2 monthly meetings in the 5 locations,” explained the district president.

In these 4 years, the strategy seeks to impact more than 35,000 girls and boys in the District of Barranquilla.

“Our mayor Alejandro Char has sent us to the streets, he has sent us to the neighborhoods so that we can impact all the children of Barranquilla,” said Patricia Vargas, director of the District’s Early Childhood program.

The strategy consists of promoting the access of Barranquilla children, their families and the community to recreational spaces, with a care model that has been recognized nationally by allowing boys, girls and their families to receive quality recreational and recreational experiences. at the door of their houses.

Methodology

The impact is aimed not only at the users of the Early Childhood program, but at the migrant population, the disabled population, pregnant and lactating mothers, and the entire Barranquilla child population.

In the Olaya neighborhood, where the official launch of the strategy took place, more than 220 girls, boys, their families and the community in general are impacted with different activities such as promotion of reading, art activities, culture, sports, among other.

‘Toc Toc Early Childhood’ articulates different secretariats and offices such as: Government Secretariat, Health Secretariat, Recreation and Sports Secretariat, Culture Secretariat, Education Secretariat, Traffic and Road Safety Secretariat, Barranquilla Verde, ICT Management, ADI, Office of Women, Equity and Gender, among others. Likewise, private sector organizations are joining this strategy.

Likewise, special District projects such as ‘Bilingual Kids at Another Level’; ‘Social Mobilization Disability Line – Migrants’; ‘Parents, Pregnant and Breastfeeding Network’ and ‘Club Leo’ join this great strategy, providing attendees with experiences at another level.

In this way, the games and experiences are directed by professionals from each area: pedagogy, nutrition, health, sports, culture, art, among others. Attendees tour the different stands of the fair and participate in the different activities arranged for them.

With the ‘Toc Toc Early Childhood’ strategy, Mayor Alejandro Char’s commitment to guaranteeing the well-being, quality care and the right to play of the city’s early childhood is ratified.
