In an interview with the radio program Porque La W, Acuña said that he found out about the video from a follower who fell for the scam. It was she who shared the recording with him.

“The complaint was made to Facebook, but the frustrating thing about all this is that there is no definitive solution (…) Of course, a person who does not have much knowledge of how this works and the errors that AI leaves behind is easily convinced because the tone of my voice is very similar,” Acuña said.

The video, in addition to inviting the supposed investment project, also invites people to join a Telegram channel in the name of Isabella Rodríguez, who calls herself in the publication as ‘the richest woman in Colombia’.

“I want to tell people, so that they don’t let themselves be knocked down: what is not published on the verified pages of public figures does not exist, because one publishes on their networks to precisely generate credibility,” Acuña said.

How to detect content generated with AI?

Given the confusion and scams generated thanks to Artificial Intelligence that have begun to appear and will surely become more and more common, it is best to be cautious and not get your hopes up, especially with an easy money proposal.

There is not much more to be warned and follow some recommendations that have been provided by experts such as Sam Gregory, executive director of Witness, an organization that promotes the use of technologies to document human rights abuses:

1. If you suspect content generated with AI is better stop, investigate the source of the content, look for an alternative source to counter the information and trace the original content.

2. Look at the images carefully. There are things that AI still has a hard time generating, such as certain parts of the body – hands, teeth -, the images usually present exaggerated facial expressions or skin without any type of imperfection, the lights and shadows of the images do not usually be realistic and the image environment often reveals defects, as AI images focus on the main object.
