According to his statements, this is the story that moved Colombia and is related to the meeting that Bahamón had with Claribeth and her daughter Evelyn. The young Colombian began working with the inmates and, in the middle of that process, she met a mother with her newborn.

From the first moment, Bahamón felt an instant connection with them, which led her to make a decision that would change their lives forever: she adopted Evelyn as her own daughter and provided them with other opportunities.

The actress shared intimate details about her meeting with little Evelyn on the program “How Bogotá Dawned.” Furthermore, she remembered how she lived that moment five years ago.

“In Colombian prisons, women deprived of liberty can be with their children until they are three years old, then they go with a guardian, a family member, and if there is neither figure, they go to Family Welfare. […] We have always worked with the children of people deprived of their liberty. Five years ago I met a baby with whom I had a special connection. We were entering the courtyard of justice and peace of the Good Shepherd, we were going to do an activity, I think it was yoga, and there was the baby. I remember that they gave her to me as if by chance, like: ‘Oh, keep her for a second’ and that’s how I met her,” Bahamón said in the interview.
