“I composed that song in 1992 when remembering the difficulties of childhood where she was our heroine. That brave, hard-working and capable woman who fought to get us ahead. Initially, Omar Geles told Codiscos that he did not want to record this song, since it was a very personal song dedicated to his mother; However, he decided to sing it in the company of ‘Los Diablitos’ and so far it has more than 34 versions sung by different artists.
“When my father left the house there were very hard moments, my mother washed other people’s clothes, she washed clothes for anyone who could pay, she did it to eat. and they were moments that served as a launching platform to dream,” he pointed out about the lyrics of this vallenato.
