why Usher doesn’t eat anything for 24 hours on Wednesdays

The well-known singer confessed to the ‘Wall Street Journal’ a curious practice that comes from his family. “I spent the whole day drinking water,” he revealed.

It’s a fact: intermittent fasting is in fashion and celebrities have made it famous. Celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow (51), Elsa Pataky (47), Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore (49), Nicole Kidman (57), Cameron Díaz (51) and Jennifer Aniston (55) swear that their life has changed since they practiced it and that spending 12 hours without eating food is beneficial.

But not all stars who fast do so to lose size, maintain their weight or detoxify… There are others who do it for religious reasons or family traditions. That is the case of the singer Usher (45), who – a few days ago – confessed that he fasts, for 24 hours, one day a week. “I always do it, but it has nothing to do with the practice of any religion”revealed.

“I do it because it was something my grandmother practiced and now I fast on Wednesdays. Normally, I start around 11 PM the day before and spend the entire day on Wednesday drinking only water. I also like to walk, stretch or do yoga, sit in the sun and increase my natural body temperature.. Then, like,” he told the aforementioned newspaper.

Likewise, the person responsible for DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love He spoke to the newspaper about his exercise routine. “Typically, my training regimen starts with walking or certain knee activations and walking backwards to really engage my quads, knees and glutes. Besides that, swimming is very good to start and cycling. “I’m not much of a weight lifter,” she stated.

However, for Usher, it’s not just his physique that is important. So is his mental health, which he always tries to take care of to stay focused on his work and not stray from his path. “I try to wake up early enough to have a moment of reflection. “I can sit quietly and meditate or pick up a book and read to stimulate my mind,” she explained.

According to the artist’s story, he has always known about the need to take care of his body and mind. However, last year, when he began preparing for his Super Bowl performance, he became even more aware of his corporeality. “I had to be strong vocally, energetically, spiritually and physically, so I had to exercise constantly,” he mentioned.

“I had to train every day and I didn’t have time to do many other things. I worried about taking care of my body at night to be well the next day and focusing on a very regimented, low-carbohydrate diet,” revealed the interpreter, in the interview in which he also confessed that, sometimes, he drinks in the mornings, celery juice and, on other occasions, he prefers a Martini with coffee.
