Troy is one of the most famous Hollywood films in history

Mexico has always been a subject of interest for the great filmmakers of hollywood due to its cultural richness and the variety of natural settings that serve very well to set stories about other parts of the world. The aesthetics of our landscapes have so excited the creators of the seventh art that some time ago the president of LucasFilm expressed his desire to record a film Star Wars in the country.

Several filmmakers have already seen the opportunity in Mexico to film some of their films, such as Wolfgang Petersenwho traveled to the country to bring to life some scenes from his famous ultra-award-winning blockbuster: Troy.

The film, inspired by Homer’s “The Iliad”, narrates the events of the mythical Trojan War, triggered by the kidnapping of Helen, queen of Sparta, by Paris, prince of Troy. This act sparks a war between the Greek armies, led by Agamemnon, and the Trojan defenders under the command of King Priam.

To film the famous scene when Troy is invaded by the Achaean armythe production team moved to Mexico, specifically to Los Cabos in Baja California. For the clip, the Faro Viejo beach was used as a setting.

He Cabo Falso Old Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located near Cabo San Lucas, at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Built in 1890 during the Porfiriato, this lighthouse has been an important reference point for sailors in the region. Although it is no longer in operation, it remains a symbol of the maritime history of Los Cabos.

The lighthouse is located in a remote, desert area known as False Cape. This location offers spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding rock formations. The combination of desert and sea creates a unique and picturesque environment, perfect for exploration and photography. The structure of the lighthouse, although deteriorated by time, maintains an air of mystery and loneliness that fascinates visitors.

The film focuses on several key characters. Brad Pitt plays Achilles, the famous Greek warrior known for his bravery and combat prowess. Eric Bana plays Hector, the noble Trojan prince and main defender of the city. Orlando Bloom plays Paris, whose infatuation with Helena, played by Diane Krugerunleashes the conflict.

The confrontation between Achilles and Hector is one of the most memorable moments in the film, representing not only the clash of two great warriors, but also the contrast between their different values and loyalties. Through these figures, the film explores themes such as honor, glory, love and destiny.

“Troy” stands out for its impressive battle scenes and its attention to detail in the recreation of the period. The wide shots of the armies in combat and the sieges of the city of Troy are highlights that show the magnitude and drama of the war.
