In the midst of diplomatic tension with several countries in the region, now Patricia Bullrich He confirmed that he sent Gendarmerie personnel to Venezuela to guard the Argentine embassy in that country. There, currently, he has given refuge to several Venezuelan opposition leaders for more than a week.
The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, assured in a talk with Radio Miter that the objective of sending eight gendarmes has to do with “the duty to take care of our embassy” and, in that same sense, he assured that “there are refugees who are being sought by the Maduro regime.” Regarding this, another of the statements that Bullrich emphasized has to do with the fact that the “Gendarmery is going to take care of the embassy, take care of the embassy staff and also these people who they have taken refuge in our embassy”.
During the week the situation was already rumored, but there was no date or formal announcement about this decision by the National Government. As usually happens, the journalistic versions followed one another because the president, Javier M.ilei liked it to one of his favorite tweeters who wrote: “The Argentine government will send members of the military forces to Venezuela to protect the Argentine embassy in Caracas and the lives of Venezuelan opposition refugees. Argentina, the main Latin American reference for FREEDOM.”
