During this day, the ceremony of the 17th Anniversary of the Raising of the National Flag was held aboard the frigate FF-07 “Almirante Lynch”, dependent on the Naval Operations Command (COMOPER), and which included the participation of the Commander in Chief of the Squadron, Rear Admiral Mauricio Arenas, along with Commanders of other Units and the ship’s crew.

This special event, held on the flight deck of the frigate, was conducive to a brief historical tour giving an account of its origins that date back to its construction in 1997 by the Yarrow Shipbuilders shipyard in the Scottish city of Glasgow; Ten years later she was sold to the Chilean Navy by the British Royal Navy. Since then, it has been a fundamental pillar in national defense, participating in multinational and joint exercises, as well as in community support tasks in the face of natural disasters and emergencies.

It should be noted that Unit FF-07 “Almirante Lynch” has been present in the most important multinational exercises in the world, including RIMPAC and UNITAS, standing out as a modern, cutting-edge ship with highly technological systems, a place where its crew remains. cohesive and trained to serve Chile.
