Through a court order, units attached to the Criminal Investigation Section (Sijín) of the Metropolitan Police of Barranquilla, managed to capture a subject identified as one of the most wanted for homicide in the capital of Atlántico.
The arrest of Jorge Luis González Anaya, 30 years old, alias ‘Guajirito’, was carried out during a search and search procedure in the Caribe Verde urbanization, southwest of Barranquilla.
According to the authorities, this man allegedly participated in the homicide that occurred on June 21, 2021, where shopkeeper Gabriel Valderrama dDuarte lost his life, in events that occurred in the ‘Por Fin’ neighborhood.
According to a police report, alias ‘Guajirito’ registers 4 judicial notes for the crimes of homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime for the purposes of extortion, damage to other people’s property, theft and is on the list of the most wanted by the National Police. He would be a member of the criminal group ‘Los Costeños’.
“This person, to avoid being captured by the authorities, would have hidden for two years in a hamlet in Alta Guajira and would be identifying himself with another document which was seized during the search procedure. Likewise, he would be one of the promoters of extortion and homicide in the south-west of the city,” reported Colonel César Sarabia, deputy commander of the Barraquilla Metropolitan Police.
