A film agenda begins this week in schools in the Tala department

The Ministry of Culture of the province, through the Audiovisual Institute of Entre Ríos (IAER), continues the implementation of the program Cinema at School in establishments in the 17 Entre Ríos departments. The next visits will be to Guardamonte, Durazno and Gdor. Mansilla, from the Tala department.

The program agenda Cinema at School It continues next Wednesday, April 24, with a morning screening with the educational community of School No. 34 José de San Martín, in the town of Guardamonte. In the afternoon, the programming resumes in the neighboring community of Durazno, with a meeting coordinated with school No. 35 Juan Bautista Alberdi, in the Commune hall. On Thursday, April 25, the IAER promotes a meeting of academic units No. 8 Román Deheza, No. 6 Héroes de Malvinas and the Mansilla Parish Institute. These three establishments are from the town of Gobernador Mansilla.

In the first two districts, the IAER holds cinema screenings 10 years after its last tour in the area.

The wonder of amazement is priceless

Fabián Muteverría has been a member of the team at the Entre Ríos Audiovisual Institute since 2000, with 24 years in the organization carrying out various tasks, among which stands out being part of the technical team for film projections, first with the Cinemobile of the Nation and now with this provincial program, Cinema at School. About his experience, he explains: “Doing this job taught me a lot of things. Arriving at a town and finding that a number of kids were waiting for you at school to see movies for the first time is priceless. For them it was a novelty, and it is true that today times have changed, with the arrival of platforms and other technologies, however inside there is still the imprint of arriving at a place and having a group of children and teachers waiting for you. It is very rewarding.” And he adds that “the expectation that you see in all of them is something that is not seen in big cities; In the towns, the rural areas and the country schools it is something different, and for me watching movies is something pleasurable, I like to watch the movies even though I have already seen them many times, because that experience is linked to the amazed faces of the girls and boys who don’t take their eyes off the screen; and on the other hand, the friendships that are generated in each place with teachers, community leaders and many others.”

Muteverría highlights that this job has given him the satisfaction more than once, of currently crossing paths with a young man who is almost 30 years old and who tells him that one of the best memories he has of his time at primary school is the joy he felt when the Cinemóvil passed by showing the films. “The IAER is a team of people that is integrated, united, that always has proposals to offer and is committed to the tasks we carry out. This is one of them, perhaps the most emotional,” he says.

Program objectives

The official initiative, executed with provincial funds, promotes the dissemination of national, regional and international films in rural and semi-urban schools. Also objectives of the proposal are to federalize access to culture; disseminate the extensive audiovisual heritage of Entre Ríos; reconstruct the collective habit of a cinema screening; and contribute to the school trajectories and pedagogical continuities of children, adolescents and adults.

This public policy has a vehicle equipped with screens, projectors, sound and hundreds of audiovisual titles, with the aim of traveling the roads of the province, bringing cultural proposals to areas far from movie theaters, which have little connectivity or are located located in rural areas.

The program is implemented by the IAER, an organization dependent on the provincial Ministry of Culture.

Visits already completed and upcoming trips

In its first month of implementation, Cinema at School performed eight functions for ten rural establishments in the towns of Colonia Merou, in the Paraná department; and Aldea Asunción, Estación Lazo and General Galarza, in the Gualeguay district. Three of these communities were visited for the first time in the history of the IAER, which is one of the purposes designed in the formulation of the Program. In the month of May, the educational and cultural policy will visit academic units of Arroyo Burgos and Pueblo Brugo, in the Paraná Department; Lucas Sud Primera, from the Villaguay district; and Alcaraz Segundo Sur and Puerto Algarrobo, from the Department of La Paz.
