The Federal Police raided the UFO Museum this Wednesday, located in the city of Victoria -Entre Ríos- due to the suspicion of the existence of antiquities illegally displayed at the site, including a mummy’s foot of Peruvian origin, something that had been reported by the Embassy of that country.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, when members of the PFA entered the museum located in Rondeau at 800, where they interviewed the person in charge of the place, Andrea Perez Simondiniwho explained to them that this mummy foot was recovered by his family during a move in Peru more than 35 years ago.
In turn, Simondini stated that he had been holding talks with the Culture Department of the Embassy peruvian to authorize her to display the object outside the diplomatic representation of that country.
The discovery of the mummy occurred in some archaeological excavations in the Paracas area, where the complete skeleton was found that was later accidentally dismembered, allowing one of the limbs to remain loose. Once that limb was rescued, it was preserved and exhibited in the museum permanently.

Simondini added: “My father, who was an oilman, did not find the mummy’s foot. It was I who recovered it while I was on vacation in Lima.” In turn, he added: “After several attempts to donate the piece to different institutions, including the embassy and natural science museums, we decided to exhibit it in our local museum.”
However, the Peruvian authorities showed interest in recovering the historical piece, which is why they filed a complaint that led to the police operation they carried out this Wednesday.
After the raid, Simondini expressed his desire to return the piece to Peru to be exhibited at the Peruvian Gold Museum, as requested by the cultural authorities of that country. However, he was dissatisfied with the police procedure: “The truth is that it was quite unpleasant because they took a lot of pieces that are things that are found here in Victoria on the coast, shells and those ancient fossils that are on the coast when They go down to the coast.”
