According to the agreement, the Ministry of Culture of the Caribbean nation and the Secretary of State for Art and Culture of that country will reconcile possible actions related to the training of artistic education, in the category of art instructors, in the specialties of dance, music, theater, plastic arts and library science.

Likewise, they will promote the exchange of information between their respective specialists and officials in order to expand mutual knowledge about the cultural life of each nation.

Meanwhile, Cuba will offer its experiences in the field of library science and will originate exchanges between the “José Martí” National Library and the National Library of Timor-Leste.

Both institutions will explore possible exchange actions in other art manifestations that are not conceived in the aforementioned Memorandum.

We have visited different centers such as the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic), and the University of the Arts (Isa), the Secretary of State for Art and Culture, His Excellency, highlighted to the press. Mr. Jorge Soares Cristovao.

He added that they will later visit the “José Martí” National Library and the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, among other institutions.

For her part, the Cuban Vice Minister of Culture, Lillitsy Hernández Oliva, commented that students from that country have trained at the ISA, and once in their homeland they held responsibilities in the sector, which is a source of pride.

We appreciate the words of the Secretary of State when he said that the agreement is a continuity of that work, because that is how we see it, he meant.

They have visited several centers of artistic education, where they fundamentally have their interests, and for Cuba it is very important to contribute with the experience it has in this sphere, he argued.

At the meeting this Wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Soares Cristovao attended together with the ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Cuba, Nivio Leite Magalhães, and the delegation accompanying him.
