The mayor of Camiña, Evelyn Mamani and the representatives of the municipalities of Huara and Colchane, received the keys to the new mobile clinics that, starting this Thursday, will circulate through these communes supporting primary health care.

Governor José Miguel Carvajal and the regional counselors were in charge of delivering these van-type vehicles, which are suitable to bring general medical care closer and guarantee medical rounds to the most remote territories of the province of Tamarugal.

The project was financed by the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR) of the Government of Tarapacá, for more than 220 million pesos (M$222,768).

“We are very happy to deliver these tools that allow health teams to get closer to communities. We are bringing to reality the commitment we have to health and families, especially with the families of the rural territory of the Tarapacá region. We know that this is going to be well used by the municipalities,” said the authority.

For her part, the mayor of Camiña maintained that these clinics “will serve to care for our older adults who live furthest from the post.” Like the mayor (s) of Colchane, Elías Mollo, who thanked Governor Carvajal for his efforts “to have this vehicle, in order to reach the most difficult to access towns.”

Meanwhile, Juan Francisco Retamal, municipal administrator of Huara, highlighted the fact that the clinic will be able to cover the more than 30 locations, as well as hamlets, that belong to the commune. “This is going to be very well received by the community,” he said.

The clinics have two chairs, a folding table, a desk chair, a desk, a sink, a stretcher, a power generating motor, a home power outlet, a home drinking water outlet, a folding awning, among other elements. The vehicle corresponds to a Peugeot Boxer van, year 2024.
