The Market in Villa Obrera is committed to revaluing the area

An ambitious urban revaluation project has been launched: the construction of the new Municipal Market of Villa Obrera. This project aims to revitalize one of the most emblematic neighborhoods of the city, providing it with a modern and functional space for the enjoyment of all residents.

The new Municipal Market will be located in the historic building of the former Villa Obrera Popular Library, located in front of the main square, between Pedro Melo de Portugal and Joaquín del Pino streets. This initiative seeks to rescue the historical and cultural wealth of the neighborhood, turning an abandoned building into a vibrant center of commercial and community activity.

Regarding its structure, the market will have commercial premises on the ground floor, which will house a varied range of products such as vegetables, fresh meats and a bar. In addition, a literary café bar will be built on the upper floor, a space for meeting and culture.

The project also includes the creation of a cobblestone street that will serve as an extension of the interior space, offering the possibility of outdoor activities and encouraging social interaction.

Among the tasks contemplated in the restoration of the building are the repair of roofs, the renovation of electrical, sanitary and sewage installations, the installation of gas, as well as the construction of a mixed mezzanine with a metal and wooden structure. Adaptation for accessibility is also planned, with ramps for the disabled and accessible sidewalks.

With this project, the Municipality of Tafí Viejo reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive development of the city, betting on the recovery of emblematic spaces and the creation of new meeting places for the community. 88cb53885c.jpg574419e0d4.jpg
