The San José Obrero festivities in the capital’s Titerroy neighborhood are already underway. The popular former teacher of the Titerroy School María del Rosario Delfina Hernández, kicked off the San José Obrero festivities after which Los Salvapantallas performed.
Before the reading of the Proclamation, the neighborhood association wanted to pay tribute to the children of Ca’Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero, after being proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands last week, collecting the reward for the great work that has been done throughout the season and qualifying for the sector phase of the Spanish Children’s Championship.
Both the mayor of the city of Arrecife, Jonathan de León, and the Festival Councilor, Echedey Eugenio, addressed the residents present with a few words, and then inaugurated the patron saint festivities.
During these six days of festivities, the little ones will be able to enjoy different workshops, as well as a chess event for all ages, the performance of Pepe Benavente, Los Coquillos, a festival and the procession of the Saint through the main streets of the neighborhood.
From the neighborhood group, they encourage citizens to come to the festivities while taking the opportunity “to send a big hug to those people who will not be able to be among us these days, to those who are going through difficult times and to those who shared during these holidays years ago and they are no longer among us, but we remember every day and we would give anything to have them by our side again,” they say.
