Tunja, April 26, 2024. (UACP). A key meeting of the Provincial Tourism Council was held in Soatá.

At this meeting, representatives from various sectors met to discuss the future of tourism in the region.

The meeting, chaired by the Secretary of Tourism of Boyacá, Eduin Contreras, aimed to elect the new leaders who will direct tourism initiatives in the province.

The official highlighted the importance of each of the municipalities that comprise it. Likewise, he stated that these emblematic destinations are conducive to advancing towards strategic projects that will generate development in the territory.

Those chosen included representatives of hotels, restaurants, artisans, travel agencies and tourism delegates from municipal mayors. They will play a fundamental role in promoting and boosting tourism in the province.

In addition, a report was presented on the management carried out by the former president of the council, highlighting the achievements made and the challenges faced during his period.

This report served as the basis to outline new strategies and objectives for the next period. Ideas were discussed to promote rural tourism, take advantage of the region’s cultural and natural heritage, and strengthen public-private collaboration in the tourism industry.

The appointment of mayors, however, remained pending and was postponed to a future session. This decision will be fundamental to guarantee equitable representation of the interests of municipalities in tourism development.

With this pragmatic approach, the Provincial Council of Norte is preparing to move towards a promising future for tourism in Boyacá. (End / UACP).
