FANB dismantled illegal mining camp in Amazonas

Within the framework of Operation Neblina 2024, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) carried out the dismantling and destruction of a camp dedicated to illegal mining in the sector known as “Mina Morichalito” in the state of Amazonas.

The announcement was made by the strategic operational commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez, who explained that during the intervention three 13.5 HP motor pumps, a plastic container with 220 liters of gasoline, a freezer, a 6-cylinder engine were found and destroyed. , two hydropneumatic hammers, 200 kilos of food and other logistical materials.

In addition, Hernández reported that during the patrol work, the military forces detained two men, two women and three minors who were in the areas near the illegal camp, for their subsequent eviction.

“It is essential to protect national parks and forest reserves, as it is a duty and constitutional right of all citizens,” emphasized the senior military officer.
