The fallen officers, 1st Sergeant Carlos Cisterna Navarro, 1st Corporal Sergio Arévalo Lobos and 1st Corporal Misael Vidal Cid, were ambushed while carrying out preventive patrols in the area.

On the other hand, in an action of respect by the Carabineros at the regional level, this day a caravan on foot will take place at 10:30 from the Coquimbo Zone (Colón 681) towards the Cathedral of La Serena, in tribute to the 3 new martyrs of the institution.
