This Friday, in the middle of the recognition hearing in which 10 Former members of the FARC recognize their responsibility for the kidnappings of the former Central Joint Command (CCC) of the FARC, The Absence of Recognition Section (SAR) of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) gave an order regarding the safety of the peace signatories.

The SAR gave the National Unity a period of 24 hours of Protection (UNP) to account for the measures it has adopted to guarantee life, comprehensive security and appearance before the bodies of the Comprehensive System for the Peace of the appearing parties who respond in the kidnapping case.

As reported, this order is given within the framework of protection measures for forced appearances before the JEP, as are the ex-guerrillaswhich the SAR has ordered, and the decision was also made in response to the petition presented by the appearing parties regarding their security guarantees.

The section also requested the UNP and the Reintegration and Normalization Agency (ARN) to jointly provide information on the actions they have taken to physically relocate to the threatened and displaced defendants, and to guarantee the continuity of the productive projects that were underway in their reintegration process.

“The SAR recognizes the importance of advancing in the clarification of the threats and persecutions by the Central General Staff (EMC) against the JEP appearing parties, which is why it ordered the Special Investigation Unit of the Attorney General’s Office to that, within a period of five days, present a detailed report that gives an account of the status of the judicial investigations into these complaints,” the jurisdiction added in a press release.

Finally, it was indicated that SAR magistrate Reinere Jaramillo Chaverra, who was responsible for this precautionary measures procedure, issued these orders taking into account that in Ibagué (Tolima) the defendants are acknowledging their responsibility for kidnappings committed by the CCC of the extinct FARC.
