On the night of last Friday, April 26, 2024, a massacre was recorded in Cauca, specifically in the Veinte neighborhood of the municipality of Corinto. This event claimed the lives of popular music singer Sebastián Muñoz and three other people.
Apparently, armed men arrived at a home and shot indiscriminately at the victims.
The singer Sebastián Muñoz ended up being a victim of this massacre in Cauca after receive calls for a private presentation in the town. His stage presenter died with him, DJ JJ Villegas.
The artist, born on July 16, 1955, was northern music singer-songwriter and recognized in the area for his work in this genre. They called him the King of the Farras.
“SEBASTIAN MUÑOZ, emerging artist, a great father, husband and son and friend, a great human being who, despite adversity, always carried with him a great smile that was contagious, without leaving aside all the stories he told and the beautiful way of reaching those hearts of his followers through musichis greatest passion,” said his work team in a message published on social networks.
Sebastián Muñoz’s work team also published a press release on their social networks in which, in addition to mourn his death and that of his presenter, DJ JJ Villegas, Reference is made to the circumstances in which the crime occurred.
“The artist leaves the city of Cali at the moment he receives a call for a private presentation, where we do not know the facts and the occurrence of this assassination attack or massacre, everything remains in the hands of the authorities for investigation,” the statement reads.
Family and friends of the 68-year-old singer are dismayed by the violent situation in which he died and hope that the authorities will conclude the relevant investigations to clarify the facts and find the whereabouts of those responsible.
