Movements, creativity, passion and lots of rehearsal are just some characteristics linked to the fundamental expression of dance. An art that since 1982, at the initiative of the International Dance Committee, belonging to the International Theater Institute (ITI/UNESCO), has a particular celebration date: April 29.

An anniversary that commemorates the birth and highlights the legacy of the father of modern ballet, the Frenchman, Jean-Georges Noverre. That is why the Municipal Cultural Corporation of Vicuña has organized days where citizens are invited to learn and enjoy various genres of dance. Free activities that will take place this Saturday, May 4th.

It all starts this Saturday between 10:00 and 12:00, where a master class will be held, comprehensive dance for ages 15 and up, with teacher Janet Barriga, at the Municipal Theater of Vicuña.

Then, between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m., in the Gabriela Mistral square in Vicuña, an urban dance workshop will be held by teacher Tania Guerrero, for ages 12 and up. Both activities require prior registration, which can be done in this form https://forms.gle/kL2hRbJ7ZnVNhncP7.

Meanwhile, at 7 p.m., the dance gala will take place. “To the sound of the valley”, show open to the community and that will include various expressions of artists from the area such as Afro dance, Afro descendant, Afro Mandingue, urban dance, contemporary dance, theater dance, experimental, among other numbers.

One of the producers of the Culture Corporation, Rodrigo Rivera, emphasizes the importance of working together with the local artistic world, “The invitation is that we can work together, that not only we propose activities, but that the artists themselves and people linked to the arts, we can jointly define different expressions, activities, exhibitions and everything related to this area.”
