Authorities seek to stop criminal actions on Huila roads

The Government of Huila held a Security Council that focused on the detailed review of the recent isolated event that occurred on the national highway, where an armed group outside the law was present.

“Once we became aware of this situation, the Army and National Police forces They were immediately deployed to counter this action. Despite our efforts, these individuals had already moved to the rural area. Operations are being carried out to try to reach these subjects,” reported Camilo Ernesto Lozano, Governor of Huila in charge.

The commander of the Neiva Metropolitan PoliceColonel Alexander Castillo reported that, “according to preliminary investigations, the people involved in these criminal acts would be linked to the Central General Staff of the FARC. However, it is important to note that these claims are subject to the conclusion of ongoing police and judicial investigations.”

In coordination with the authorities of the department of Tolima, as well as with the Neiva Metropolitan Police, joint operations are being carried out to find those responsible for these events.

For its part, the Ninth Brigade of the National Army It is deploying operations throughout the department, especially in areas bordering Tolima, Cauca, Caquetá and Putumayo that face similar challenges in terms of public order.

“Through our intelligence network, we are closely monitoring the situation and carrying out operations to guarantee the safety of all the inhabitants of Huila. Despite the challenges, it is important to highlight that no captives have been reported in our department at this time” highlighted the commander of the Ninth Brigade of the National Army, Colonel Pedro Pablo León.

In the Security Council, he also followed up on specific cases in the municipalities of La Argentina and Algeciras, related to the logistics operators of the School Feeding Program. “The respective complaints have been filed with the competent authorities, and investigations are being carried out to capture and prosecute those responsible,” added Camilo Ernesto Lozano, Governor of Huila in charge.
