The Colombian midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero evaluates the possibility of leaving Racing to return to his native country due to personal problems.
The former River player became Racing’s reinforcement in mid-2023 and, little by little, earned a place in the starting team. Quintero has a contract with La Academia until December 2026, but for personal problems due to which he had to travel very recently could leave the Avellaneda club.
From the player’s entourage they assured this medium that he is comfortable within the “Academy” team, as well as with the coaching staff and leadership.
The objective of the change would be to be closer to his family, so the decision depends exclusively on him. In his country, he already played for Envigado FC, Atlético Nacional, Independiente Medellín and also Junior de Barranquilla.
The departure of the 31-year-old player would mean a significant loss for Costas’ team, which has just been eliminated from the Argentine Cup. So far this season, Quintero played 16 games, scored three goals and three assists.
